Poll: Liz Cheney Support Of President’s Order To Kill General

While opinion in congress appears to be divided on President Trump's recent order of an airstrike that killed a top Iranian military leader, Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney is not among the president;'s critics.

Cheney, who is a Republican, issued the following tweet on Friday

"Qassem Soleimani was an evil and deadly terrorist with the blood of thousands, including hundreds of Americans, on his hands. @realDonaldTrump was right to order decisive action to kill Soleimani to prevent further attacks and defend American lives and interests."

The president and some top U.S. generals say Soleimani was planning an action that would have taken many American lives.

Some critics question whether there is any evidence to support that claim and say the action needlessly leads the country to the brink of war with Iran. Other critics say the president should have consulted with Congress before taking such a step.
