Local political candidates and the 2020 elections will take center stage on the 'Weekend in Wyoming' program on AM 650, KGAB on Saturday.

The program will kick off at 11 am with Republican State Senate District 8 candidate Dan Young. Young is challenging incumbent Senator Affie Ellis in the GOP primary next month. Sen. Ellis, by the way, will be a guest on ''Weekend in Wyoming" on August 15.

At 11:30, we'll speak with Republican Laramie County Commission candidate Slade Raine, who at age 20 is running for a seat on Laramie County's governing body. At a little after 12 noon, we'll chat with Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee about all things election-related.

We'll touch on such topics as where and how to vote, voting early, how to register to vote and what changes you can expect at the polls in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At 12:30, we'll chat with Casper political commentator Joel Carlston about the coronavirus pandemic and the nation's reaction to it. It all comes your way on Saturday, August 1 on the weekend in Wyoming program! Tune in from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on AM 650, KGAB!
