Police Looking For At Least Two Drivers In Fatal Hit-And-Run In Fort Collins
Fort Collins Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in which at least two different cars are believed to have hit the victim and then left the scene.
That's according to a post on the Fort Collins Police Services Facebook page. According to the post, police were called to the 900 block of East Mulberry Street shortly before midnight on Monday, April 18 on a report of a pedestrian who had been run over.
When they arrived they found a badly injured man who was soon pronounced dead. Investigators think the victim was hit by at least two different cars, neither of which stopped at the scene or reported it to police.
Based on witness statements and evidence found at the scene, police think one of the vehicles is a 2004-2012 model dark colored Chevrolet Colorado pickup.
Police think that vehicle may have front driver side damage from the crash. Fort Collins Police and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation have issued a Medina Alert for the vehicle. The post goes on to say:
Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Officer Dave Kaes at (970) 416 2229. The Larimer County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the decedent after proper next of kin notifications have been made.
