Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee says about 12 percent of registered voters in the county have already cast ballots for the 2016 General Election.

In raw numbers that is about 4100 voters, according to Lee, She says another 2700 new voters have been registered in the county since the primary election. Of those who have voted, 2646 voted in the Atrium of the county building. The rest of the early voters received their ballots in the mail and have returned them.

Friday, October 14 was the mid-point in the local early voting period.

Lee is asking anyone who wants an absentee ballot mailed to them to ask for it this week to make sure there is time to receive the ballot, fill it out and get it back to her office by the deadline, which is  7 p.m. on Nov. 8.
