Musical genres from around the world will be highlighted at the first-ever One World Prairie Music Festival at the Laramie County LIbrary on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 9-10).

The festival will feature everything from Jewish klezmer music to classical Irish to traditional bluegrass to a mariachi band.

Among the musicians scheduled to perform is Wyoming's Todd Dereemer, who will take the stage for an acoustic for an acoustic folk show on at 3:20 p.m. Saturday.

Performers will also be offering tips and tricks for each of their instruments during a series of workshops on Saturday morning. Food and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase, but the event itself, including the workshops is free.

Library spokeswoman Reese Ruiz says the event was made possible by a donation of $30,000 from an anonymous library supporter. A full schedule for the festival is available here.
