There's a moving new video from the Wyoming Department of Health warning of the danger of smoking around your kids.

The video begins with a mom getting her child in his car seat while she has a cigarette in her hand out of the car window. It then cuts to a present day scene where her son is grown up and being wheeled into an operating room.

It's a very dramatic 3 minute video that ends with the doctor telling the mom about her son being in recovery and then dropping the hammer of what damage secondhand smoke can do.

It's a heavy subject with the CDC sharing some staggering statistics about secondhand smoke and children:

  • Ear infections
  • More frequent and severe asthma attacks
  • Respiratory symptoms (for example, coughing, sneezing, and shortness of breath)
  • Respiratory infections (bronchitis and pneumonia)
  • A greater risk for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)

What do you think of this Wyoming Department of Health video?
