A proposed plant that would convert natural gas to diesel could create 500 Laramie County jobs if it is built.

Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dale Steenbergen says Escalera Resources  of Denver has announced plans for the $1.8 billion facility.

Escalera was until recently known as Double Eagle Petroleum. Escalera would build the facility jointly with Wyoming GTL., with work starting next year and taking an estimated three years.
