The Wyoming Department of Transportation will hold a grand opening at it's new driver services office in Cheyenne on Monday, May 5th.

The center is located at the former Norris Travel Center at the I-25 College Drive Interchange at 1520 Etchepare Circle. WYDOT Driver Services Manager Don Edington will speak and answer questions about his program’s move and the new facility.

The move was made because the previous facility at the WYDOT complex no longer had adequate space for customers or employees.

The travel center facility was built in 1975 and has been vacant since 2012, when the Travel and Tourism Department opened the new Southeast Wyoming Welcome Center at the High Plains Interchange three miles to the south.

The facility has been remodeled and has room for an additional examiner station, more room and parking for customers and easier access to public restrooms.

Andrea Smith of the Donor Alliance also will be on hand to talk about her organization’s services.
