One of the 4A quarterfinal round games featured Casper-Natrona taking on Cheyenne East. NC beat east in double overtime in the regular season and in the opening quarter of this game, the Mustangs opened up the scoring with an 8 yard run for a touchdown from Dante Wallace to give Natrona a 7-0 lead. East came right back in quarter #1 with a long completion for a touchdown from Graedyn Buell to Ox Schroeder that covered 60 yards. The extra point was missed and the T-Birds trailed 7-6. And that’s the way it stayed for the first half.

Cheyenne East exploded in the 3rd quarter with 22 points. Buell threw his 2nd Td pass of the game, this one going to Cole Micheli. The 2 point try was good to make it 14-7 East. The Thunderbirds hit paydirt again as Buell went long again, this time to Chance Aumiller on a play that covered 78 yards to increase the lead to 21-7. That was followed by Buell throwing his 4th touchdown pass of the game, covering 9 yards to Jake Rayl so just like that it was  28-7 in favor of Cheyenne East.

Each team scored once in the 4th quarter, Christian Anderton for East on a short run and Braxton Bundy for Natrona from the doorstep. But Cheyenne beats Natrona 35-14. East is 7-3 and will be at Thunder Basin for the semi-final round. It’s the first time in 10 years that Natrona did not reach the semi-‘s and finish the season 6-4
