Have you seen the latest America The Beautiful quarter yet?

The third 2015 quarter of the America The Beautiful series arrived last month and features North Carolina's Blue Ridge Parkway and even has a three-dimensional tunnel.

Are you a coin collector? With the summer tourist season underway and Cheyenne Frontier Days coming up, there will be a large influx of coins from afar passing through our area soon.

Check your change, you might have the newest America The Beautiful quarter in your pocket. It features one of the tunnels along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and Virginia. The Parkway is America's longest linear park and while it's not technically a National Park, it has been the most visited unit of the entire National Park System every year except 1946.

The Blue Ridge Parkway consists of 469 miles of road through the Appalachian Highlands. The quarter design also shows some of the flowers you can see along the scenic parkway as well as lots of wildlife. Dogwoods and Rhododendrons are some of the most abundant and the area is known for it's vivid fall colors. Have you ever driven on it?

The United States Mint's America The Beautiful quarters run for 12 years, releasing five new coin designs each year, and 2015 is the sixth year of the series. A total of 56 quarters will be released through the year 2021. Yellowstone National Park was the second quarter released in the series.

The Blue Ridge Parkway quarter is the third for 2015, still to come are the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware coming in September and the Saratoga National Historic Park in New York arriving in November.
