Laramie County School District #1 is seeking to fill a board vacancy created when Brian Farmer announced he will resign from the Board of Trustees effective Jan 7th.

According to a news release from the district, trustees have 30 days to appoint his replacement. Potential candidates are encouraged to fill out an LCSD1 Board of Trustees application, available on the District website at www.laramie1.org. Hard copies may also be picked up at the Superintendent’s office.

Applications should be returned to the Superintendent’s office by 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17th. On Monday, Jan. 29 at noon, trustees will hold a candidates informational meeting, followed by a possible Executive Session Board meeting. The public may attend interviews Thursday, Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. Candidates will be asked the same questions and allotted the same amount of time to respond. Start time will depend on the number of candidates.

During a public meeting at 5:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, the Board of Trustees will vote to select Farmer’s replacement. At 6 p.m., the replacement will be sworn in and will serve until Nov. 30, 2014.
