The Laramie County Republican Party has put forward three candidates to fill the office of Laramie County Clerk.

The Laramie County Commission will choose one of the three at it's Tuesday, June 7 meeting. The office is currently vacant because of the death of Debbye Lathrop, who died last month. Lathrop had served as county clerk since 1994.

According to the party's facebook page, the three nominees are Misty Reimer, Debra Lee, and Debra Valdez-Ortiz. Reimer currently runs the county clerk's auto titles division. Valdez-Ortiz has been with the office since the 1970s in a variety of posts. Lee is an office support specialist for the Wyoming elections division of the Secretary of State's office.

Because Lathrop was a Republican, that party gets to choose the three candidates from which the commission will make the final choice.
