After qualifying for the state tournament, both Laramie Little League all-star teams finished with District Tournament championships last Saturday.

The Laramie Majors (11-12’s) beat Gillette 10-1 for the top seed from District No. 2 at the state tournament.

The Laramie Minors (9-10’s) beat Torrington 10-5 and earned the top seed, as well.

Laramie Majors

Laramie jumped to a 6-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed in their nine-run victory.

Dax Parvin hit a two-run home run, and Maddox Dorrell added a two-run single in the first inning.

Jax McClean smacked a two-run single in the third as part of a four-run inning that sealed it.

The Majors team finished with 10 hits and took advantage of five Gillette errors.

Parvin and Brock Lehning combined for the win on the mound. They allowed one run on five hits. There were two walks and eight strikeouts.

Laramie will face Green River in their first-round game at the state tournament in Riverton on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Laramie Minors

After a tie game through two innings, 3-3, Laramie took the lead for good in the third. The 9-10-year-olds scored three runs in the third and four more runs in the fourth inning.

Gabe Goodspeed and Kolton Boo led the Minors’ offense with two hits apiece. Laramie had 11 hits overall. They also drew five walks and capitalized on four errors by Torrington. The Minors overcame five errors defensively in the victory.

Jaxson Enevoldsen was the winning pitcher.

Laramie Minors will also play Green River in their first-round game at the state tournament in Riverton. It begins at 7:30 p.m., as well.
