At a morning breakfast, hosted by the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce, ICE was the primary topic.

According to Wyoming Public Media, (WPM), ICE was confirmed to be at an apartment complex in Jackson, looking for 17 “targeted individuals.”

WPM reports that 25% of Jackson and 13% of Teton County are foreign-born.

But WPM did not say if those people were in the country legally.

ICE does not have any interest in arresting non-US citizens if they are in the country legally.

With upwards of about 40% of our workforce being so many diverse cultures, there are people from all over the planet to come here for a season, for a couple seasons, some of whom end up staying here for a lifetime.

And that's what makes us such a great place to be. (Rick Howe, president of the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce).

After the Chamber meeting, it was confirmed that ICE was active in the community.

Sandra Guido a local HR manager, wanted to know if she could ask ICE agents to leave her business.

“I learned that, yes, it's a private business. You can exercise your right to say that they can please leave your business at any time for any reason,” said Guido. (WPM).

The answer to that, according to the local police chief, is that anyone can be refused service or asked to leave.

But if they have a warrant then they can do what they want within the bounds of that warrant.

The Wyoming House and Senate are currently working on a bill regarding illegal immigration.

AN ACT relating to immigration; establishing offenses related to the transportation, concealment or hiring of illegal or unauthorized aliens; (SF0124).

A Little Wyoming School House Preserved In Time

The little hamlet of Slater Wyoming has preserved on of their last two remaining buildings with all the love they feel for it.

There was once a tiny town on this spot.

Most everything is gone except the schoolhouse and the community building.

I stopped by one Saturday morning and the locals were more than happy to let us in to have a look.
