PhotoFest Rewind! State Football Championship Games
The State High School Football Championships were held at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie last month with some decent weather for the most part. In 4A, Sheridan completed an undefeated season with a 21-0 win over Cheyenne East. That was Sheridan's 4th consecutive state title in 4A and has not lost a game since 2021. Cheyenne East was playing in the 4A Championship for the 3rd straight year.
In 3A, Star Valley made it 3 state championships in a row with a 20-7 win over Cody. Star Valley has been very systematic in their approach and it has produced great results en route to a 12-0 season. Cody was playing in the 3A title contest for the third straight year.
Big Horn won the 2A crown for the 2nd time in 3 years with a solid 42-12 win over Cokeville. Big Horn ran the table going 11-0 in 2024 and has lost just 3 games over the course of 3 years. Cokeville has displayed a remarkable run of success in football and the last time the Panthers missed the playoffs was way back in 1992.
Pine Bluffs defeated Lingle Fort-Laramie 28-22 in a great game for the 1A 9-Man championship as the Hornets finished the season at 10-1 for the 2nd title in the last 3 years. LFL also finished 10-1 on the season as they appeared in the championship game for the first time since 2009.
Finally, in 1A 6-Man, Little Snake River defeated defending champion Burlington 87-50 to wrap up the season undefeated. That's 3 state championships in the last four years for the Rattlers and Burlington went 8-2 in 2024.
We have a humongous collection of photos from all five championship games so take some time and check them out in our gallery below. Enjoy!!
