Laramie Main Street Alliance Celebrates Birthday & $27.6 Million
The Laramie Main Street Alliance is celebrating its 18th Birthday this month.
The organization has a lot to celebrate for its efforts in improving Downtown Laramie. In its just-shy of 20 years, the organization has amassed some impressive statistics.
- 165 new businesses
- 720 net new jobs
- 430 renovation projects
- 62,000 volunteer hours
- 54 public improvement projects
- 10 new construction projects
The organization in this time has seen more than $27.6 million invested in Downtown Laramie. “We are excited about upcoming projects that will create an even better downtown for the next 18 years,” said Trey Sherwood, LMSA Director.
“LMSA continues its rich tradition of collaboration with the 2025 overhaul of Third Street, the state highway that runs through downtown. After a decade of working alongside the City and the Department of Transportation on a community-driven collaborative planning process, Third Street will be safe and walkable,” Sherwood added in LMSA’s news release.
The organization has grown, too. 13 years ago, Sherwood was the only employee. Now, the organization has four staff members, student interns, and “an army of volunteers.”
“We’re grateful for the community's ongoing support of Main Street,” Sherwood continued “So many people have made downtown what it is today. We hope our work inspires the Laramigos to join in the fun of revitalizing a vibrant downtown,” Sherwood said.
To help the hard work of keeping Laramie’s Downtown a highlight of our community, LMSA is asking for $18 donations to celebrate 18 years. To donate, visit the link here.
