Is Wyoming Really One Of The Most Boring States?
What you consider boring and what I consider boring will likely be quite different. So, going online and declaring that Wyoming is a boring state is wrong.
That is what someone did, though, and I'm afraid I must disagree that Wyoming was included in the top five most boring states. I agree with a couple of states on the list. If you've ever driven from Cheyenne to Omaha or Denver to Kansas City, you can agree that Kansas and Nebraska are pretty rough from the interstate. I'm not saying there aren't fun things in those states, but they're flat and full of corn.
Here is ONE of the top five most boring state lists.
- Nebraska
- Iowa
- Wyoming
- South Dakota
- Kansas

When it comes to understanding what’s boring, what’s better than a bunch of data nerds that geek out to the latest release of Labor Statistics data, right?
Coming in with that perspective, we basically just had to figure out what people tease us about around the office to understand what makes us boring — old married people with kids in the ‘burbs (For example, I’m an 80-year-old grandpa stuck in a 31-year-old’s body).
Here's the breakdown of how they determined boring.
- Percent of the population over 60 (Higher is more boring)
- Percent of the population over 15 that is married (Higher is more boring)
- Percent of households with kids (Higher is more boring)
- Population density (Lower is more boring)
If you're like me, having the option of wide-open spaces, mountains, wildlife, camping, hiking, and fantastic opportunities to explore, then you don't agree with these lists either.
