LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cowboys and the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels will clash in the Arena-Auditorium in a Saturday afternoon matinee.

The contest is slated for a 2 p.m. MT start and will feature a halftime show with Christian and Scooby former finalist on America’ Got Talent.

Fans can watch, listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.

 

About The Teams

Wyoming head into the contest with a 11-12 overall record and a 4-8 mark in conference play after falling to Utah State at home 71-67 on Tuesday. The Pokes are averaging 68.7 points per game and are allowing 70.5 points per game. The Pokes are shooting 44.2 percent from the field and allowing the opposition 43.6 percent.

Wyoming is shooting 35.3 percent from behind the arc and rank second in the conference in three-point percentage defense at 31.5.

The Runnin’ Rebels are 11-12 on the season and 5-7 in conference play after falling at home to Boise State by a tally of 71-62 on Tuesday. UNLV scores and allows 70.6 points per game.

The Runnin’ Rebels shooting 44.5 percent from the field and allow opponents to 43.6 percent. UNLV leads the league with only 10.4 turnovers per game and record 6.9 steals per night.

 

 

About The Players

The Cowboys are led by Obi Agbim at 17.8 points per game for second in the conference. He is shooting 45.8 percent from behind the arc to lead the league and rank fourth in the nation. He also has 17 assists in his last three games played and leads the team with 3.6 per game.

Jordan Nesbitt added his eighth double-double of the season against Fresno State to rank third in the MW and No. 31 in the nation. He adds 8.7 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per night to lead the team and rank fourth in the MW. Kobe Newton adds 8.2 points per game and has made 38 threes for the season.

UNLV is led in scoring by Dedan Thomas Jr. at 16.2 points per game to rank seventh in the conference. He also ranks third in the conference with 107 assists this season. Jaden Henley adds 11.3 points per game and leads the MW shooting 90 percent from the free throw line.

Jeremiah “Bear” Cherry leads the team at 5.2 rebounds per game.

 

About The Series

The Cowboys trail the all-time series 46-21, but did win the first meeting this season 63-61 in the first conference road win at UNLV since 2003. Wyoming is 16-13 all-time at home against UNLV.
