Pedersen, Rumpf Receive All-Mountain West Honors

LAS VEGAS, Nev., – A pair of Wyoming Cowgirls received All-Mountain West honors announced Saturday by the league office and voted on by the league’s women’s basketball head coaches.

Malene Pedersen was named to the All-Mountain West Team while Jane Rumpf was named to the All-Freshman Team.

Pedersen, who was also named to the All-Mountain West squad last season, became just the third Cowgirl in Mountain West history to lead the conference in scoring. Pedersen averaged 17 points per game this season during league play to capture the scoring crown.

In addition to her scoring prowess, which featured six 20-plus point outings and double-digit scoring in every game this season, Pedersen was fifth in the league shooting 41.6-percent from the floor and was sixth in the conference making 1.74 3-pointers per game. Pedersen’s 82.5-percent at the free-throw line was fourth in the league.

Pedersen becomes the 12th Cowgirl in Mountain West history to receive at least two all-conference nods and just the seventh to be named First Team All-MW.

Rumpf led the league in two different statistical categories in 2025-26 as a freshman. Rumpf’s 1.60 blocks per game and 2.35 3-pointers per led the conference. Rumpf averaged 10 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting nearly 35-percent from beyond-the-arc.

Rumpf had seven games where she scored 10-or-more points and had two contests with 20-plus. She also had three games with 10-plus rebounds and a pair of double-doubles. Rumpf also had nine multi-block games during Mountain West play.

Pedersen, Rumpf and the rest of the Cowgirls open the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Basketball Championship Saturday at 1 p.m., Mountain Time as they face Air Force at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
