When many of us were young, we were told that with advanced technology and the advent of robots, we could be out of a job. That idea becomes more of a reality these days.  So what jobs are robots taking away from us? Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight, what I think, are the top 5 jobs that robots are already doing better than the rest of us.

  1. The Bomb Squad - Frankly, I don't mind robots taking this job away from us. With more than 450 bomb squads in America, minimal risk to human lives and better disposal of bombs is the name of the game.
  2. Bank Tellers & Store Clerks - This is good in the sense that some states are making minimum wage higher and higher. Therefore, there is more do-it-yourself tellers and check outs to help keep cost down. They tend to be more accurate as well.
  3. Farming - Farming entails much human labor, but with the advent of robots, farmers are finding that they can get the job done with a machine instead of a big labor force to include land surveying, crop picking and land grading.
  4. Pharmacists - A report came out of the University of California, San Francisco stating that Pharmacists are not used at the university. Instead, they use robots and computers to take the orders and package the script.
  5. Bartender - It will be pretty boring telling all your woes to this gadget. Some of these cocktail making units are programed to make up to 300 different drinks. An the accuracy? Fagetaboutit! Spot on.
