Governor Mead Presents Proposed Budget to Lawmakers Monday

Governor Matt Mead presented his proposed biennium budget to the Wyoming Legislature's Joint Appropriations Committee in Cheyenne on Monday.

Lawmakers had questions about several items in the governor's proposed budget including pay raises for state employees, more money for local governments and additional money for roads.

The governor says lawmakers expressed concerns about declining revenues in the future especially when it comes to coal. Mead told lawmakers the state may have to go to court to stop federal intrusions such as the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed Regional Haze Rules.
