Governor Mead Orders Flags Flown At Half-Staff In Wyoming
Wyoming Governor Matt Mead has ordered Wyoming and U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Senator John McCain.
The governor issued the following statement on Monday afternoon:
Governor Matthew H. Mead, pursuant to President Donald Trump's Proclamation issued today, has ordered both the U.S. and State of
Wyoming flag be flown at half-staff statewide for Senator John McCain
immediately until sunset on the day of his interment. "I join the many people
across the United States and throughout the world in mourning the loss of
Senator John McCain," said Governor Matt Mead. "He demonstrated unparalleled loyalty to our country. He was a dedicated public servant. He was an American hero. We will miss him."
McCain is scheduled to be buried on Sunday at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, following memorial services in Arizona on Wednesday and Washington D.C. on Friday.
