Google Names Cheyenne As Wyoming “eCity”
Google has recognized Cheyenne as the winner of it's 2014 "eCity of the Year" award winner.
City spokesman Scott Smith says the award recognizes Cheyenne for it's strong online business community. Google's website cites abundant electricity and a cool, dry climate as being assets in attracting startups and data centers.
The location of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) supercomputing center in Cheyenne was cited as a specific example of the city's attractiveness to computer and high tech projects.
