The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says for the past few months, thousands of individuals who held black bear, wild turkey and gray wolf licenses have received surveys asking them to complete information on their hunt.

Spokesman Al Langston says while many surveys have been completed, the return is still less than 50 percent of the requests that have been sent. Langston says it is very important for all surveys to be completed even if the hunter was unsuccessful or did not go hunting. The survey is an important tool for the Game and Fish to estimate harvest, hunter success, and it provides information to help wildlife managers plan next year’s hunting season.

In addition to the surveys for black bear, gray wolf and wild turkey, more completed surveys are needed from the elk and deer hunters who received survey requests.
