Police in Fort Collins are looking for a suspect in the attempted kidnapping of a child on Thursday.

According to a post on the Fort Collins Police Services Facebook page, the incident happened between 8:30 and 9:30 on Thursday morning when a man tried to talk a child into getting into his vehicle. An adult neighbor was watching the situation and intervened, at which time the suspect drove off.

The suspect is described as being a white man in his 40s, heavyset, with gray hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt, and a hat. He was driving the early 2000s minivan shown in the photo, with a bed and multiple possessions inside.

He also had a white dog. Anyone who may know anything about the incident is being asked to call Detective Kelsey Skarr at 970-221-6514.
