He may not be a player you readily remember, but he was a defensive lineman for the Broncos. He'll now be working on his own defense after shooting a woman.

According to Denver 7, Justin Bannan was arrested on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, after shooting a woman.

It seems Bannan was hiding inside a business in Boulder, Black Lab Sports. According to their website, they are 'centered around an ethos of unleashing greatness. No a##holes.' Bannan was listed as one of the founders of the business, and that page is no longer available.

Bannan was hidden inside a locked therapy room at Black Lab when a female employee entered and he shot her, hitting her in the shoulder. She went to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

The police found Bannan outside the business and arrested him. He had a duffel bag with him containing items including two loaded guns and a $20 bill with a white substance later determined to be cocaine.

According to Denver 7 and the affidavits, Bannan was making comments that the Russian Mafia was after him.

The injured woman stated that she and Bannan did not have a relationship; they only worked in the same building.

Bannan joined the NFL in 2002. He played defensive lineman for the Broncos in 2010-2011 and again for the 2012-2013 season. His last NFL job was with the Lions in 2013.

He was booked on charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault with extreme indifference, first-degree assault with intent to cause serious bodily injury and first-degree burglary

The Broncos have a video from 2017 on their site about Bannan and Black Lab Sports HERE.
