ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) — Firefighters have managed to gain 47 percent containment of a wildfire burning in a remote area of southwest Wyoming.

The fire is burning about 25 miles south of Rock Springs and has burned about 19 square miles of grass, sagebrush and Juniper on federal, state and private land.

The Bureau of Land Management reports no injuries and no structures lost. There have been no evacuations or road closures.

Fire crews are focusing on keeping the fire away from sage grouse habitat, oil and gas infrastructure, grazing allotments and cultural resources.

The fire began last weekend following a series of storms that passed through the area.
