UPDATE; The evacuation order for the area near F.E. Warren Force Base has been lifted;

Laramie CNTY Alert: UPDATE TO EVACUATION-Evacuation notice has been canceled.  Gate 1 will remain closed until further notice while investigations are completed. All residences may return to the evacuated area.

Earlier: Laramie County District#1 has issued the following statement:

Good morning, LCSD1 Community. We are aware of the situation taking place at F.E. Warren Air Force Base calling for all residents within a 1,850-foot radius of the Base to evacuate. LCSD1 is in close communication with F.E. Warren personnel. At the recommendation of law enforcement, at this time, none of our schools are evacuating.

UPDATE: A Laramie County Alert now Says the evacuation is for an area east of the base, up to McComb Avenue, Country Club Ave. and down to Cosgriff  Court.

The evacuation is due to a suspicious package that was found at Gate 1 of the  base

Laramie CNTY Alert: CORRECTION Suspicious package reported at FEWAFB Gate 1.  UPDATE Evacuation is for residents on east side of base up to McComb Ave, Country Club Ave, and down to Cosgriff Ct. Residents in this area must evacuate temporarily until notified.

UPDATE: A second alert says the evacuation is for people along the west side of F.E. Warren, Between Randall and Pershing. Further details have not yet been made available.

Original Post; According to the Laramie County Emergency Alert system, an evacuation has been ordered within one mile of F.E. Warren Air Air Force Base..

Laramie County Commissioner Linda Heath verified that the order has been issued. She added that "there is a lot of police activity in the area.'" She did not immediately have further details."
