Republican Evan Simpson of Afton was officially sworn in as Representative of House District 21 of the Wyoming Legislature on Friday afternoon.

Simpson will fill out the remainder of the term of former Rep. Robert McKim, who resigned his seat on Sept. 12. Simpson was chosen by the Lincoln County Commissioners to serve out the remainder of McKim's term, which runs through 2018.

After being sworn in Simpson said it  ''will be hard to fill Robert McKim's shoes, but I will try my best." Speaker of the House Steve Harshman (R-Natrona County) said Rep. Simpson will replace Rep. McKim on the House Agriculture, State and Public Lands Committee.

Rep. John Ecklund (R-Laramie/Goshen counties) will take Robert Mckim's spot on the Select Water Committee.
