The City of Cheyenne Compost Facility is giving away single grind wood chips to the public in celebration of Earth Day on Sunday April 22nd. The give away is free to residential homes beginning on Monday April 23 and running through May 4th. The compost facility is located at 3714 Windmill Road and is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 4 p.m. The facility is closed on Tuesdays.

Magic City Enterprises will participate in Earth day on Friday April 20th. Threw will be tours at their ECO Center location from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. In addition, there will be participants at the 4 other teal bin locations throughout the city from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Teal Bins are located at Lowes on Prairie Ave. , K-Mart on Dell Range, Both Albertson's stores and the Eco Center on Missile Drive.

Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power, in partnership with the 2011 and 2012 Cheyenne Leadership Class, Rocky Mountain Landscaping and the City of Cheyenne will plant trees in Romero Park as part of the company's "Power of Trees" program.  The program matches Cheyenne Light with community partners to plant trees in parks, on school grounds, new public spaces and other areas.
