A Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation agent and a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper who used CPR to save a man's life in Casper will be honored this week by the Red Cross.

On Aug. 16, a man collapsed while playing basketball at the Casper Recreation Center. Agent Brad Reinhart and Trooper Adam Bruning performed CPR until EMS arrived and took the man to the hospital, where he later recovered.

"For their heroic and lifesaving action, Bruning and Reinhart will receive the Red Cross Lifesaving Award for Professional Responders: Certificate of Extraordinary Action," the Red Cross said in a statement Monday.

It's the highest award the Red Cross can give to anyone who saves or sustains a life using CPR.

The ceremony is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the WYDOT office, located at 800 Bryan Stock Trail in Casper.
