Cheyenne Police Looking For Jeep Burglar
The Cheyenne Police Department is asking for the public's help in catching the person who burglarized a Jeep earlier this month.
Police spokesman Kevin Malatesta says the crime happened in the 1400 block of Paintbrush on December 15th. Someone broke out a window of the vehicle, which was parked on the street.
A purse was reported stolen.
Anyone with information on the case is being asked to call the Silent Witness hotline at 638-TIPS. Tipsters don't have to leave their name and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
Police Chief Brian Kozak earlier this week said car burglaries are an ongoing problem in the city.
In that interview, the chief said guns left in cars are a favorite target of the thieves, but he also warned against leaving any sort of valuables in vehicles overnight. The chief said a surprising number of people leave guns and other valuables such as computers or cash in unlocked vehicles, making them especially easy targets.
