Cheyenne Mayor Offers To Host Democratic Presidential Candidate
Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr took to Twitter on Sunday to invite Democratic Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg to Wyoming, offering to host him if he visits the Cowboy state.
Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, is seeking to become the first openly gay candidate to be nominated for president by a major political party. He is married and has been in the headlines recently for chiding Vice-President Mike Pence over the VP's religious objection to homosexuality.
The mayor, in her Twitter comments Sunday, recalled meeting Buttigieg
Mayor Pete may not recall - we marched together in the Pride Parade in Boston during the Mayor’s conference and met up during a work session. Chasten is of course welcomed too! Come see us in Wyoming, Mayor Pete.
My mayor colleague
@PeteButtigieg called out Wyoming today in his formal announcement as candidate for President. He believes in doing away with the electoral college vote. I invite my mayor colleague@PeteButtigieg to not fly over - but visit WY. I’m happy to host.
