A 37-year-old Cheyenne man was arrested Wednesday morning after police say he threatened a dentist with a knife.

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Offficer Dan Long says officers were called to 3315 Warren Avenue around 8 a.m. after receiving a report of an attempted robbery.

"Michael Whitehead entered the dentist's office of Thomas Zumo and pulled out a knife and demanded medication," said Long.

Long says the dentist was able to talk Whitehead into putting the knife down, but Whitehead pulled out a second knife and once again demanded medication.

"When he did not get the medication he left the area and officers later apprehended him," said Long. "No one was hurt."

Whitehead was arrested for robbery. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 13 in Laramie County Circuit Court.
