Cheyenne Man Pleads Not Guilty to Sex Abuse Charges
A 60-year-old Cheyenne man has pleaded not guilty to charges he sexually abused a minor while he was her legal guardian.
Mervin Scofield, Jr. is accused of having sex with a teenage girl three times between September and December of 2015.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment yesterday (Thursday) in Laramie County District Court.
Scofield's trial is currently scheduled for May 15. He's facing up to 150 years in prison if convicted on all three counts.
