Cheyenne Man Convicted of Child Sex Crimes Loses Appeal
A former F.E. Warren Air Force Base resident who sought unsuccessfully to save his military pension after being convicted of child sex crimes has lost his appeal.
A federal jury in October 2015 convicted Army National Guard Lt. Timothy Wells of sexual exploitation of a child and other charges. He was sentenced in January 2016 to 15 years in prison.
Wells filed an appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, arguing the jury had insufficient evidence to convict him of sexual exploitation of a child.
The court decided Wells' case without oral argument and filed its opinion last month, affirming Wells' conviction.
