The Cheyenne Hispanic Festival Committee in partnership with the City of Cheyenne and the Cheyenne Depot Museaum will celebrate the 3rd annual Cheyenne Hispanic Festival on May 31st and June 1st. The Festival kicks off on Friday May 31st from 6-10 p.m. with performances from local band, New Image, and Tito Malaga from Morrocco. On Saturday June 1st, the festival runs from noon until 10 a.m. with live entertainment, pinatas for children, food, bands vendors and a car/bike show. The car show starts at 11 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Spokeswoman Ann Redman says returning will be the popular Mariachi Vasquez and Grupo Follorico Sabor Latino. New to the festival is the exhibit "Corridos". The National Hispanic Cultural Center is touring " Nuevo Mexico: Hasta Cuando, a music based exhibit that celebrates the "Corrido" (ballad) tradition in the United States and Mexico. The Chicano Hispano Mexican Studies Program of the University of New Mexico in collaboration with the Smithsonian, created the New Mexico component of the larger "Corridos sin Fronteras: A New World Tradion," which was displayed at the NHCC in 2004.
