Some of the best young golfers from the Western U.S., Mexico and Canada will tee off in Cheyenne July 26-30.

For the first time ever, the Cheyenne Country Club will play host to the Girls Junior America's Cup (GJAC).  The international golf tournament features 18 teams made up of four 14-17 year old girls.

Mariah Farden, the only Cheyenne resident on the Wyoming team, says she is looking forward to the competition.

"It's a team match, it's not individual, so it's pretty intense," said Farden.  "We get to learn about each other's cultures and own states and it's a very awesome time to bond with each other and other states and get to know other girls."

Each team will play three rounds to determine a winner.  The goal of the tournament is to get young women interested in golf and encourage them to be team players.
