Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dale Steenbergen says Wyoming needs to come up with ways to offer small business owners the kind of incentives that are available to larger companies.

Ninety percent of businesses in the state qualify as small businesses, adding most big businesses start out as small companies. However, he didn't offer any specific incentive programs that he would like to see implemented.

Steenbergen said his comments shouldn't be taken as a criticism of incentives for bigger companies. He believes all types of business in Wyoming would benefit from a reduction in senseless and intrusive regulations that serve no useful purpose.
