Cheyenne Animal Control Scam Reported
A spokeswoman for the Cheyenne Animal Shelter is warning residents about a new scam involving a phony Animal Control Officer.
Niki Rose says the reports are that someone pretending to work for Cheyenne Animal Control has tried to take people's pets on the pretense that the animal is a stray or in violation of some local ordinance.
Rose says apparently the only motivation is to steal the animals for reasons that aren't yet known.
The photos shown here illustrate both the uniforms and vehicles used by Cheyenne Animal Control Officers.
People are advised to be extremely wary of anyone who claims to work for that agency who isn't wearing such a uniform or driving such a vehicle. People with questions can also contact Cheyenne Animal Control at 635-1453.
