CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — The Casper/Natrona County International Airport is required to provide free parking to passengers. But free parking options at the airport aren't easy to find.

The airport, and all other airports in the state, must provide 20 percent of its parking spaces for free.

Airport leadership is not thrilled with the requirement. But when the paid parking lot at the airport was expanded in 2012, the free parking also needed expansion.

At the Casper airport, an old access road was converted to a parking lot.

There are no directions to the lot and a small sign placed at the start takes a blurred approach in announcing the lot is free.

The lot is nearly a 1.5-mile walk from the terminal along roads without sidewalks or lighting.
