Wyoming’s Brett Smith Nominated in Two Fan Voting Weekly Awards

After he threw for a career-high 374 yards, accounted for 396 yards in total offense and passed for four touchdowns, Wyoming Cowboy Sophomore QB Brett Smith is up for two honors in which fan voting determines the winner. Smith was named one of the Manning Award “Stars of the Week” and is also a candidate for the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas MW Player of the Week honor.

Cowgirls Cruise Past Regis, 76-45, in Second Exhibition Win

A 19-1 run to end the first half helped the Wyoming Cowgirls to an easy 76-45 victory over the Regis Rangers in exhibition action Monday night at the Arena-Auditorium. Senior Ashley Sickles scored 17 points, on 7-of-14 shooting, grabbed 4 rebounds and had 3 steals to lead UW.
Wyoming Cowboys Win 4th Straight Border War

Brett Smith threw for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns, ran for another, and the Wyoming Cowboys won the 104th edition of the Border War over rival Colorado State 45-31 Saturday at War Memorial Stadium. The victory marked the fourth consecutive win in the series for the Pokes for the first time since 1970-1973.

The Fresno State Bulldogs exploded for four touchdowns in about a nine minute span of the first half and rolled past the Wyoming Cowboys 42-14 Saturday night in Fresno, California. Derek Carr threw three touchdown passes in the first half, and the Bulldogs added a 78-yard punt return for a score and a 14-yard t-d run on a reverse for 35-0
