Two Cheyenne residents were among a half dozen fishermanrescued Friday after being trapped on an ice floe on Flaming Gorge Reservoir.

Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dick Blust says the men were trapped on ice that had broken free from the shore near the Buckboard area on the west side of the reservoir about 19 miles south of Green River. Rescuers from the Green River Fire Department and Daggett County, Utah Sheriff's Department used a fire department boat to remove the men from the ice a little after 9am.

The Cheyenne residents were 35-year-old Kenton Taylor and 48-year-old Dean Hunhoff. The four other fisherman were all Colorado residents. The men told rescuers they had been fishing since 6:30 a.m., when they discovered the ice they were on was moving away from shore. No one was injured in the incident.
