Police arrested a 79-year-old woman on Jan. 12 for pimping and prostituting at the Fort Collins spa she managed.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office began investigating Sang Patrella in 2018 after receiving a report about illicit sexual activities at her VIP Spa (309 S. Summit View Drive).

According to The Coloradoan, the sheriff's office had received up to nine similar complaints since 2006.

Patrons of the the spa confessed to police that they had paid for sexual acts during their time there.

One of the patrons told police he came across the spa on a website that reviews massage parlors. Every review of VIP Spa mentioned its sexual services — the website appeared to cater to customers searching for illicit activities.

A different review was left on Yelp in 2016, with a customer stating that the VIP Spa was "not a tanning salon, it's an actual wh*rehouse where they traffic women from Asia and make them sleep in the back room."

Officers searched the spa on April 11 of last year, discovering condoms, tissues, lingerie, and over $32,000 in cash. The workers appeared to be living in the spa.

One worker informed police that they had performed sexual acts in exchange for cash at the spa.

Patrella, as well as the spa's owner, claimed to have no knowledge of any activities in their interview with the sheriff's office.

However, a quick background check divulged that Petrella had already been charged for pimping in Florida.

Following her arrest on January 12, she posted her $20,000 bond the same day. She is scheduled to appear in court again on February 18.

No one else has been charged in the case, but a spokesman for the sheriff's office said that more arrests will occur.

VIP Spa currently appears vacant, bearing only a sign that says "Nu Spa."
