When you think of Wyoming, you think of wide open spaces, cattle, and an independent spirit! Here are some phrases that you're NOT going to hear Wyomingites say.Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight some of the phrases that you probably would not and will not hear those of us who live in Wyoming utter.

  1.  I wish we had wind to blow away all the smog - Did somebody say wind? We've got enough wind to sell it to Los Angeles and make a profit.
  2.  There are too many people in this state - Wyoming is the least populous state in the union. That's not a bad deal.
  3.  I wish Cheyenne Frontier Days happened more than just one week a year - Some would argue that one week out of the year is enough to last 3 years.
  4. Raising and butchering cattle for consumption is such a cruelty to animals and should be outlawed - If you hear people saying this, then they're probably not from Wyoming. We have some of the best grass raised beef in the nation. Yes, I'm being partial here.
  5. I love 'green' license plates - We call them 'Greenies' around here. You can spot them on the streets because they drive like their trying to make every green light down Colfax Ave.
