Yellowstone National Park is preparing to kick-off a collaborative Adaptive Management Program to evaluate the implementation and environmental impacts of its new winter use management rule.

Collaborative adaptive management will allow the National Park Service (NPS) to gather more information about park resource conditions through scientific monitoring and to seek additional public input on what resources are most important to monitor going forward.

An initial public meeting about Yellowstone’s Adaptive Management Program will be held in Bozeman, Montana, on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Montana State University Engineering and Physical Sciences Building (Room 126) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Future winter use adaptive management meetings will be held in other communities throughout the region.
