Visitation to Yellowstone National Park for July is down slightly compared to year ago levels. Spokesman Al Nash says the park recorded 888,335 recreational visitors in July 2012, down 2.1 percent from last year. Nash says The number of recreational visitors entering Yellowstone for the first seven months of the calendar year is up compared to 2011.

The park recorded 1,930,232 recreational visitors from January through July 2012, compared to 1,848,658 during the same period in 2011, a 4.4 percent
year-to-year increase. July is typically the park’s peak visitation month, followed by August,
June, September, and May.
