The Wyoming Highway Patrol is reminding drivers to slow down in winter weather after a trooper was struck by a semi on Interstate 80 Friday morning.

Sergeant David Wagener says the trooper was in his patrol car at the scene of a crash about 38 miles east of Rock Springs, when a semi lost control on the icy road and collided with his cruiser.

The trooper was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Wagener says troopers investigated a total of 321 crashes during last week's snowstorm, 55 of which involved injuries.
