The Wyoming Stock Growers Association is urging its membership and Wyoming residents to give to those in the agriculture industry impacted by the blizzard of Oct. 4-7, 2013 also known as “Atlas.”

Executive Vice President, Jim Magagna stated, “The recent storm accompanied by freezing temperatures and high winds caused unprecedented devastation to many of our ranching neighbors in South Dakota. WSGA has been told that losses of cattle have exceeded 20,000 head. Should you be interested in making in-kind donations of livestock to repopulate herds, we urge you to contact the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association, The South Dakota Stockgrowers, or the South Dakota Sheep Growers.”

The majority of cattle losses are found in South Dakota where a Rancher Relief Fund is now accepting donations. For those looking to donate specifically to Nebraska, donations can be sent to the Cattlemen Relief Fund at the Chadron Community Foundation. Address: PO Box 1125, Chadron, NE 69337.
