Wyoming Snowpack Above Normal

Rich Denison, Townsquare Media

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming’s snowpack is above normal so far this winter.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service reports that the state’s snowpack entering this week is 116 percent of normal.

A snowstorm last week helped increase the statewide average.

Last year at this time the snowpack was 83 percent of normal.

Fourteen of the state’s 19 drainage basins are either normal or above in snowpack.

Another storm system is expected to drop more snow on the much of the state this week.
